The Vinton Guild of Fine Arts (VGFA), in partnership with Vinton Unlimited and Pourville Art Studio & Gallery, is initiating a new project to paint colorful, interactive murals in the alleyways of downtown Vinton. We are looking for building owners interested in hosting a mural, local/regional artists interested in designing and painting a mural, and community helpers to assist in the work. We are also seeking donations to cover the costs.

These are examples of our interactive murals. They encourage people to visit the mural, interact with it, take a photo and share on social media. Each design will be unique to Vinton. Most of the murals will be painted on panels and attached to the wall.  Some may be painted directly on the wall depending on the site.

This is a map showing our mural locations.  So far, we have the Butterfly at #1 seen from 3rd Street, and the Umbrella mural at #2 seen from 1st Avenue. #3, the Megaphone, can be seen from 5th Street and 2nd Avenue looking on the side of the Times building.  #4 is the alley beside City Hall where we have the public painted Flowers mural (above) on the slant wall, and a kid's Underwater mural on the Pourville steps. Also part of the BAA project are 2 mini murals for the kids. Look for the Under the sea mural at Kiwanis Park, and the Mini Butterfly in the alley beside the Palace Theater.
